Hello,

Newbie here.

My Telstra smart Modem 3 has just cooked itself.

Before I go back to Telstra and get another one (which I don't like) its signal and sucks and wifi doesn't let certain things connect.

Anyways, I have been given a AX73 5400 router. It lets those items connect such as security cameras and solar inverter.

Let not go in to the why. Telstra modem 2 was fine and Telstra modem 3 trouble.

Anyhow,

Am I better to get my own modem as I have a decent router now?

If so what modem model do you recommend to use with the router the Ax73 Router.

My current connection is NBN FTTN if that matters.

Also will all modems work with the Telstra network or is that also a problem.

Cheers Mark.

Hi, thanks for posting question on our community.

First,  you may need to contact Tesltra to confirm whether they are compatible with other-brand modems. As I know, they should be ok.

About the connection NBN FTTN you mentioned, please check in this guide whether Q2( 4). FTTB/ FTTN: VDSL line----Telephone cable----VDSL2 Modem Router) is your situation.

If so, you may consider our DSL modem routers on the official website.
