Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.15

Hi there,
Here's my area, about 80square meters
distance between routers is 11 meters.

one ssid, smartconnect on, transmit power LOW

with two AX23's routers and ethernet backhaul easymesh i had no problems with wifi:

wireless clients (only wifi5 ac) always have 5ghz AC connect in zone 2,3,4,5
2.4ghz connect ONLY in zone 1,6 (wery very thick walls) - client always switch to 2.4ghz and immediately switching back to 5ghz in other zones.
everything is fine, perfect mesh, perfect roaming MAIN-SATELLITE and back.

(i use android samsung m34, a50, s20, xiami... and iphone14. wifianalyzer to see which router is now connected)

BUT
REPLACING satellite ax23 to archer C64 (just connected power+lan+updated to last firmware 1.13.15)added it to mesh:
once ANY client is connected to satellite, it always keep connect to C64 with 2.4ghs speed in zone 1,2,3,4,5.
even when main router signal is much better:

On screen you can see, my mobile is near main ax23 its 5ghz signal is much stronger but still is connected to SATELLITE 2.4GHZ with-57db.

only when 2.4ghz signal drop below -70db in "zone 6". it will roam to main ax23 2.4ghz and immediately switch back to 5ghz in zone 4-5

ax23 stiching 2.4-5-2.4-5ghz no problems

C64 doesn't want to let go his clients, always keeping slow 2.4ghz connect

maybe bug in 802.11v so it haveonly "ONE WAY" to 2.4?

Turned ON wifi near ax23:

Connected to 2.4 ghz :CA

ROAM SCAN RESULT CONNECTED TO :C9 WIFI 5 !!! OK 802.11V WORKS ON AX23

turned WIFI OFF

turned WIFI ON NEAR C64 zone and it always keep 2.4ghz connection:

Connected to 1A 2.4

ROAM          SCAN    RESULT 24-2F-D0-93-F2-1A   IT TRIGGERS TO ROAM to THE SAME 2.4GHz :)

but it should trigger connect to 24-2F-D0-93-F2-1C   which is 5GHz !!!

BUG!

this router does not work like it should

waiting for answer and beta firmware :)

every thread is closed

just in this community smartconnect is not working properly in

ax10

ax1500

A64
A8

C6
C64
C80

and others

And you even didnt test it?

It works in my ax23 perfectly

but

my archer C64 (fw1.13.15) with just one device connected, standing straight ahead router it always keeps 2.4ghz  on galaxy s20, m34, m14, a45, a30, iphone 14-15.

SAME with archer C80 (fw1.13.2 ) in my office. once client connected to 5ghz, go somewhere with low signal, switched to 2.4 and it will keep this 2.4 always.

clients samsung s24Ultra, and iphone 12-13-14-15

dont tell me that it is clent problem where to connect because this routers dont send command to clients "hey, i have 5ghz band, connect it"

We need a fix!

Smartconnect on ax23 work perfect, moving clients to 2.4 and back to 5ghz when signal is good

but smartconnect in C64 is annoying. it always keep 2.4 even when 5ghz signal is very good

c64 router every minute trigger client to connect same  24-2F-D0-93-F2-1A  it is already connected to it:)))

it must  connect to 24-2F-D0-93-F2-1C (5ghz network)

  @YuriyB

Hi, thanks for posting detailed sharing here~

It is suggested to adjust Transmit Power as high, then check the performance again.

If the result is same as before, please feel free to let me know.

  @Marvin_S Thanks for reply.

changed tx power to High

Turned on wifi on mobile and connected to C64 5ghz :1C  good.

Went away to drink a cup of tea :)

Smartconnect moved me to 2.4ghz :1A, thanks for it.

Went back and stand in front of C64:

2.4ghz signal -20dbm

5ghz signal -21dbm

Smartconnect, HELLO???

no answer

no move to 5ghz

wait few minutes no change

Before u say that this is my mobile client samsung phone problem,

I answer : archer AX23 does this job
