Controlling smart bulbs via power link WiFi
I have the TL WPA7617 kit set up in my garden building 50m away from my router. The kit is paired and synced and I have logged into the app to turn off 5ghz and keep 2.4ghz on so I can connect my Calex smart bulbs.
The problem I'm having is when I am in the garden building everything is connected brilliantly but as soon as I move out of the power link area and back into my router area the smart bulbs say they are offline. So means they don't turn on and off as intended.
I have a Sky router which doesn't appear to allow me activate the 'mesh' option on my app.
How do I get my setup to be able to control my smart bulbs like I can inside my house?

Hi, is it a smart bulb? If you connect the bulb to your main router and the bulb can still be controlled via its app when you are not at home, that means your bulb can be connected via cloud. I am not sure the model of your bulb, for TP-Link smart bulbs, it works so.
I understand your needs, however the powerline devices just make up a basic network, your device can get internet access when it is connected to the powerline unit. The internet source is your main router. So it is suggested to check the settings of your main router, like firewall and so on.
It is also suggested to contact technical support of your bulbs for some advice.

I am afraid the situation you subscribe is normal.
Only TP-Link router and TP-Link powerline devices can set up Onemesh network if they support Onemesh feature.

Can you help explain why the bulbs wouldn't stay connected to the TP-Link signal and still be operational via the app remotely though? I need to have some hardware connected in the building to the internet 24/7 and accessible remotely when I'm away via their apps. I assumed the powerline adap would allow for a constant WiFi signal in the location it was plugged into.
