Hi,

Could you provide the model number of your switches and your network topology? Do you mean you cannot see the back end devices connected to the switches?

I have 2 cascade switches, TL-SG108-M2. I have a TPLINK 8980 used as an access point connected via LAN to the second switch. I put a fixed IP address. I can log in by typing the IP address, but I can't see it in the list of network devices. I have another access point, again with a fixed IP, Archer C1200, and I see it in the devices on the network.

Hi,

It is recommended to set the backend devices to automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP, and also reserve an address for the AP on the main router.

This can help the main router detect the connected backend devices and display them in the device list.

  @Sunshine

I attach a screenshot of the tplink 8980 connected via LAN.

All right? It makes me manually enter the IP address.

It seems like I have to enter a static IP...

how should I set it up?

For the TD-W8980, the settings should be correct to function as an Access Point by disabling the DHCP server and assigning a static IP address.

Could you please explain why you need it to appear in the BE550's Client List? To be honest, it's an older model, it’s challenging for us to determine how it operates in this configuration and why it might not be detected properly by the gateway router.

yes I needed to see the 8980 in the device list to check traffic and give priority..

I configured it as you said..

too bad I can't see it.. except for a short time after the reboot..

so they are not ''compatible''?
