Hi ,

I am seeking some help trying to setup VLANs on my new TPLINK Router/Switches.

I have drawn a simple topology of what it looks like for now.

I have a Local Domain server with a DHCP server with the SCOPEs as outlined in the image.
I am trying to setup VLAN 10 and 20 with the SCOPEs already setup on the DHCP server however my clients dont seem to receive any ip from the scope, I have a virtual machine running windows 11 that I am testing this senario and whenever I tag VLAN 10 to the HyperV NIC card it gets the random 169.254.X.X address.

Following setup has been done on the Omada cloud for the Wired networks
Wired Networks>LAN
VLAN10 - Configured purpose as VLAN
Application : Gateway and Switches

On both the switches I have enabled the VLAN interface and pointed it to the IP of DHCP relay I have setup on a virtual server using windows server routing and remote access.

I am not sure where I am going wrong or am i missing something. but anything I assing the VLAN tag then basically no IP is assigned.

Hi Clive, I have followed the same instructions tough there is something that's not right. And can't seem to still receive any IPs at the client side. I also have a question, Do I have to assign a port for VLAN to function, if so then to what am I suppose to assign it to, for example if I need my VMs to be on the VLAN then they are not physically connected to the switch so I dont know if I need to assign a port for that case.

As you have a controller, did you manually change any of the profile on the switches?

Without touching any of the profiles, by default, the All profile would allow all of the VLAN interfaces to work. Does this work in your scenario?

Would like to see how you set up the ports.
