Hi,

I'm currently using TL-WPA8630P as extender with 2 adapters, and I wanted 2 additional adapters.

I bought 2 TL-WPA8631P (extender) by mistake.

Is it possible to configure them as adapter on the main CPL network, or do I need to send them back and buy new adapters ? (which ones ?)

Many thanks upfront

Dominique

Hi,

You don't need to send them back.

Just add all your Powerline "devices" to your CPL network via the known pairing procedure and then use them as you please.

If you don't need a Wi-Fi signal from some of your TL-WPA8631P, then you can turn their Wi-Fi off if you desire.

That confusing "Extender" term likely comes from the marketing people.

Actually, there are Powerline adapters that do not have built-in Wi-Fi AP (like the TL-PA8010P) and there are Powerline adapters that do have built-in Wi-Fi AP (like the TL-WPA8631P), but apart from that they are the same thing.

Hi, many thanks, I needed to repeat the pairing procedure 2-3 times, but it worked at the end :-)
