When bugs and security holes are barely patched, firmware updates are so sparce, and products get pushed to end-of-life within 2-3 years ... then you know you are in trouble.

For years its been known that the Chinese are programming "back doors" into virtually all their electronics. 

 

The problem is, its almost impossible to find a router or modem (or any connected electronic device for that matter) that isn't either made in China, or houses components made in China.
