Deco X50 - High CPU Usage
Deco X50 - High CPU Usage

Hi,
I have observed consistently high CPU usage, frequently reaching 100%. This significantly impacts my network performance, causing slow speeds and unstable connections.
I would appreciate technical support to identify the root cause of this problem and find a solution.
I have already tried basic troubleshooting steps, such as rebooting the system and checking for firmware updates, but the issue persists.
Please find some additional information that may be helpful:
- Deco Model: X50 (both devices)
- Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20241010 Rel. 65389

@Charles_Andre I have the exact same issue. Main Deco X50 is showing 100% CPU and satelite Decos show disconnected even though they are wired and have green indicator lights. The mobile app is consistent in how bad it is at showing accurate information and the direct IP web interfaces are even worse. I've updated everything to latest Firmware versions but still have the issue. Looking here for a possible solution before I replace all of it...

@Charles_Andre wow so x50 shows more info about devices than x60. also some x50 have easymesh support. i feel so regret to go with x60 instead of x50. i was thinking x60 better......

I have exactly the same problem with my Deco X50 (without LTE) ...
satellites crash and reboot or the end devices lose the connection to the wifi.
the main deco shows a processor load of 100% (both in the MobileApp and in the web interface).
A quick solution would be more than appreciated.

Hi, For the Deco X50-5G, please try to install the latest 1.2.1 beta here:

Best regards.
Hi,
Still no solution today?
My deco is not the X50-5G but the X50, so this version cannot be installed on my deco.

Hi, what is your current firmware version and hardware version of your Deco X50?
If it is Deco X50_V1, you can test the latest beta version 1.6.4 here:
Deco X50_V1_1.6.4 Boosted Network Stability for Smart Home Devices

@David-TP
Hi,
I'm using the latest version 1.6.3. The version you sent has nothing in the release about improving CPU consumption. It is unacceptable to have expensive equipment like this that comes with 2 devices and says it supports 100 connected devices, it has 100% CPU with few devices divided between the APs.

Is there an update on this topic?
unfortunately, i feel neglected at the moment. the problem has been going on for several months now and there seems to be no solution in sight. for a product in this price range, i expect a faster response time from support.
i'm already using version 1.6.4 although there's nothing in the release notes to indicate that cpu utilization has been improved.
when can we expect a working solution?

Hi, Sorry for the inconvenience. letting users feel neglected is the last thing we want.
There hasn't been a newer firmware for Deco X50_V1 than 1.6.4 yet. If this version doesn't add any improvements, Can you help me check more details about the current issue so that I can ask the senior engineers for more advice:
“satellites crash and reboot or the end devices lose the connection to the wifi.
the main deco shows a processor load of 100% (both in the MobileApp and in the web interface).”
- How often would satellite Deco X50 crash? Would they turn flashing red?
- Can I have some screenshots of the network map on the Deco APP, such as?
- How many online clients are connected to the Deco Mesh? Would there be a lot of smart home devices?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

Hi David,
Thank you for your quick feedback.
Main Deco and Satelite are still losing the connection - unfortunately, it is not possible to narrow down the time frames.
But it is reproducible, for example, as soon as I make a change to the address reservation, all 3 lose the connection = no device can connect to the Wifi.
However, the LED shows green on the Main Deco and red on the two Satelites.
Please find attached the required screenshot from the app.
On average there are approx. 25 devices in the Main Wifi, and approx. another 40 to 45 devices in the IoT network.
Would be great if there was a quick solution, as the network is currently very unstable.
