I have a 3 mesh Deco network, 2.5gbps internet, been working fine but after the update they receive OTA last night the download speed has plummeted.

I was getting ~2.35Gbps in the app before, now I'm struggling to get 100mbps in the app and clients are measuring sub 10mbits, all download, upload speed is fine, over 2Gbps

ive tried reboot all decos, fiber box and all clients, still download speeds are terrible

Deco's are

BE85 firmware 1.1.1 build 20241023 Rel. 34667

BE65 firmware 1.0.8 build 20240723 Rel. 26458 (Set as main, connected to fiber)

BE65 firmware 1.0.8 build 20240723 Rel. 26458

please help!

  @fFletchs we seem to be having the same issue. Hardwired to our modem we get 600-700mbps and 20mbps upload, but suddenly all our Decos are seemingly capping at around 94mbps and our ISP shows our router as capping at 100mbps. This needs an emergency hotfix.

@tp-link, can we downgrade the firmware to verify its causing this terrible download speed?

  @fFletchs i was just advised in a support chat that it would brick it. Not sure how much confidence to have in them yet though.

  @fFletchs Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

May I know who your internet service provider is?

Did you set Deco BE85 or Deco BE65 as the main Deco?

Does it make any difference if we change the target server under speedtest on the Deco APP> Test internet speed as well as on the mobile clients?

I'll also follow up on your case via email. Please check whether you can receive my email later.

Best regards.

  @DecoUser94

Hi, May I know your internet service provider?

I noticed your Deco is Deco XE75 Pro_V1. Did the speed issue also start ever since the 1.4.5 firmware upgrade?

It is also suggested to change the speedtest server first.

It is very likely the wan link speed between the main Deco and cable modem is capped at 100m/s. If possible, please also use a new Ethernet cable to connect the cable modem to the main Deco.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP here are my decos and firmware

BE85 firmware 1.1.1 build 20241023 Rel. 34667

BE65 firmware 1.0.8 build 20240723 Rel. 26458 (Set as main, connected to fiber)

BE65 firmware 1.0.8 build 20240723 Rel. 26458

One of the BE65 is main, deco app says all are uptodate, makes no difference which speedtest server or client i choose, all get full upload speed 1-2.3gbps while download is terrible, from 1-20mbps and speedtest looks like its capped, graph flatlines immediattly

Im in iceland and my provider is called Hringdu, and im conneced over fiber

This setup has been running flawlessly for >6 months, or since i got them

  @fFletchs

Hi, Thanks for the update.

Have you tried to set the Deco BE85 as the main Deco?

How to replace the main Deco with another Deco

1.0.8 for Deco BE65_V1 was released 4-5 months ago and 1.1.1 for Deco BE85 was recently released.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP   thanks for your reply, I'm unable to do that until friday since its public holiday today and tomorrow, and my provider needs to register a new macaddress (if would loose all internet)

in the app it looked like all the deco's had a firmware update

what I've tried is turning all deco's off and the fiber box, replaced all cables, turned just on the fiber box and just the BE65 connected to it (no mesh) and this is the speed im getting on a wired client

and in the app

Yesterday

  @fFletchs

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

I'll check with the engineers to see whether they have any other suggestions.

By the way, how about the QoS settings on the Deco APP? It is off or set to 2.5Gbps/2.5Gbps upload/download?

Merry Christmas and Best regards.

 @David-TP

thanks, I've swaped like you suggested so the BE85 is the main and connected to the fiberbox,  and I've also tried both QoS on and off, set it to 2500 and 10000, but its still the same :(
