Model : TD-W8950ND

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 1.2.9 build 110212 Rel.22296n

ISP : All

Hi,
I bought 5 TP-Link TD-W8950ND to drop in at my customer sites, some are remote sites that are unattended.

All sites experience same issue.

DNS stops responding to queries and then all connectivity is lost. Inbound and outbound no connection until modem is power cycled (Power off and back on). Happens weekly!

I have these on different ISPs so it is not an ISP issue, only commonality is TP-Link modem.

As soon as I change to Billion/PC Range modem problem goes away.

Please advise.

If you think it's a DNS problem, why not set a static DNS server on the router to have a try?
Go to web interface, LAN->Disable DHCP server, set 8.8.8.8(common google DNS server) for static DNS server, and the router will automatically assign this DNS server to your computer.
By the way, your firmware is too old, maybe upgrading to a new one on the TP-LINK website is better.
