Problem with WDTV Live

I ve recenthly got the TD-W8970 modem/router and in general lines I'm satisfied.
The problem is the USB port. When I connect an HDD on it, I can access it as Storage Sharing from all my devices(Desktop,Notebook,Smartphone,Tablet) but there is just NO way to access it from the WDTV Live. The only way is to enable the Media Server with the
known limitations(among others, no MKV playback). The WDTV Live is attached on the TP-Link by a cat6 cable.
