auto connect failing to attempt connection in PPPoE connection after sestart

ISP : Algerie Telecom Fawri
This has occurred a number of times where restarting my modem I check the status page and it shows DSL is up but PPPoE connection is down. This is when the PPPoE Connection Setting is "Always On". I then change the Connection Setting to "Manual", Press the "Connect" button and the PPPoE link comes up. This tells me there is an issue with the PPPoE Always On setting in that it does not attempt to reconnect in my scenario.
