Is your home’s electrical circuit experiencing voltage instability? This phenomenon looks like the smart bulb has been reset. However, to reset the smart bulb, the smart bulb should be in the On state first, then perform a cycle of three off-and-on operations, totaling six switchings. How to reset the Tapo smart bulb
If there are voltage fluctuations, when turning on the smart bulb from the switch, despite the bulb appearing to be off (insufficient voltage), it may actually experience rapid power cycling that will lead to device's reset.
You may try to install the smart bulb to another fixture, for example, a lamp with its own power switch, cut off smart bulb's power with the power button, monitor whether the same problem exists. Or plug the lamp into a socket with a power button, turn off&on the lamp (smart bulb) with the power button.

This new change should help to improve the situation where the bulb gets reset due to an unstable power supply. We are also offering community users an early opportunity to try it out.
