Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.3 Build 20240926

I recently (six months) bought 2x XE75's, 3x M4R's to create a MESH with my then Virgin router set into Modem only mode.

All was fine.

I then after 23 years with Virgin swapped ISP and they installed a TP-Link EX820v Voice capable router.

The problem is the router will not recognise the XE's or the M4R's so the only way this can be configured to work is with the EX820v's wifi turned off, an XE75 plugged into it via ethernet and the other devices connect to the "Main" XE75.

Therefore I end up with two seperate networks lose the ability to use voice functions on the EX820v unless plugged in directly via ethernet as the wifi has to be turned off or it degrades the wifi from the XE75.

So having spent approx £400 to get solid wifi in my house (which did work...ish) I now have to cobble together a network that isnt because TP link products are made not to be compatible.

XE75's and M4R's are still readily available on sale....Who makes New equipment (EX820v) that is not compatible with current range products?

OR is this just a SALES SCAM?

Suggestions, enlightenment or refunds greatly accepted ;)

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

EX820v is mainly for Internet service providers and is not sold through retail channels.

It is recommended to set Deco into Access Point mode so EX820v would be the only NAT/DHCP server in the Home network. The VOIP features can still work properly through Deco Mesh.

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Best regards.
