Hi,

I have 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem RouterModel No. TD-W8968

First: I don't know how to check out the hardware version of my device, and the firmware version

Second: I copied these information from the 'http://192.168.1.1/', and I don't know if these below are the hardware version , and the firmware version of my device?
Firmware version:0.6.0 0.11 v0005.0 Build 120802 Rel.68426n
Hardware version:TD-W8968 v1 00000000

Third: The hardware version of my device, and the firmware version of my device can be both upgraded? Do hardware versioin, and firmware version come from the factory with one of these versions?
Software
V3:Firmware, V3 Hardware
V2:Firmware, V2 Hardware
V1:Firmware, V1 Hardware

Finally: Whenever I clicked on one Software below:
V3:Firmware Utility.
V2:Firmware Utility
V1:Firmware Utility

I found this warning '•Please verify the hardware version of your device for the firmware version. Wrong firmware upgrade may damage your device and void the warranty'

According to the screen shot above, If these below were my Firmware and hardware versions of my device:
Firmware version0.6.0 0.11 v0005.0 Build 120802 Rel.68426n
Hardware versionTD-W8968 v1 00000000

Also, I really found on the label at the back of the device, there is a character string , (Ver:1.0). Thus, if this was my hardware version, which the right firmware version of these below could I install according to my current hardware version?

Only these are Firmware utility versions available:
V3:Firmware, V3 Hardware
V2:Firmware, V2 Hardware
V1:Firmware, V1 Hardware

I look forward to receiving your reply at your earliest convenience.

1. How to find hardware version? http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=46
2. How to find firmware version? http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=315
3. V1 can only upgrade firmwares for V1; V2 can only upgrade firmwares for V2...
4. The red message will come up on that page just as a warning, not an error message.

Thanks a lot,
FIRST: As long as my hardware version is 1.0, then I must choose 'V1:Firmware'.
However, what is my current Firmware version? Do think it is:
Firmware version 0.6.0 0.11 v0005.0 Build 120802 Rel.68426n
So, if I choose 'firmware' v1, what version of Firmware I will get?

SEOND: What new features I will get after upgrading into V1 firmware?

FINALLY
: As long as my hardware version is 1.0, then I can neither upgrade to Firmware V2, nor V3. Thus, should I buy another TP-link router with a hardware version of 3 in order to upgrade to Firmware v3? Or can I upgrade hardware version from 1.0 to 3 as well.

First, as long as the hardware version is V1, then you have to choose firmwares for V1.
Second, there are different firmwares for V1. Check it here. Read Modifications and Bug Fixes to know "new features". The top one-TD-W8968_V1_131226 is the latest firmware version for V1.
http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TD-W8968&version=V1#tbl_j
Third, you CANNOT upgrade firmwares for V2 or V3. Different firmwares for different hardware version cannot upgrade to each other.
