Chromecast issues

Having issues connecting Chromecast to WiFI. Setup on ADSL modem. Can get Chromecast up but Android or iOS devices will not recognize. Have tried TP-Link support but complete silence so far. Google claims compatibility. Appreciate any ideas on setup changes needed to get this to work.
