Model: RE605X
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I recently added an RE605X to my home Wifi network.

I wanted to create an OneMesh network with my Archer A6 Modem.

I connected the RE605X using a network cable and it appeared to configure correctly.

Im having an issue where clients are repeatedly connecting to the wifi network and then are dropped.

They clients connect for about 5 seconds before dropping.

I have tried

1) resetting the device

2) Factory Resetting the Device

3) Enabling and disabling Smart Connect

When looking at the client on my PC I see the number of clients connected to the Range extender Climb to 9 and then drop to 2

I also have an issue where a Chromecast cannot access the internet using a smartconnect OneMesh network.

Can someone help

Hi@HK101,

Thanks for your reply.

Did you mean that you want to create Easymesh network between Archer A6 and RE605X via Ethernet backhaul? Please note that only some models of Range extenders support Ethernet backhaul in Easymesh network. Please refer to EasyMesh Range Extenders Start Supporting Building a EasyMesh Network via Ethernet Backhaul

Hi  @HK101,

Thank you for reporting your issue to our community.

May I know, what is the LED status of the range extender when the internet drops? Is it working normally on the router at this time?

If you are experiencing intermittent wireless connection on the range extender, please refer to the following suggestions:

  1. Confirm the extender is properly located based on How to place your wireless Range Extender for optimal reception and performance.
  2. Make sure the firmware on the extender is up-to-date.
  3. Disable Parental Control or Access Control (Blacklist/ Whitelist) on the host router if they have been enabled for the extender.
  4. Turn off Band Steering (also called "Smart Connect" or "Whole-Home Wi-Fi") and set up different Wireless names for the router's 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi.
  5. Fix the wireless channels on the host router, such as channel 11 for 2.4GHz and channel 48 for 5GHz.

For more details, please refer to What if the Range Extender keeps losing connection?

  @Joseph-TP

What i have found is that when I turn EasyMesh On and I dont have the RE605X plugged in as an ethernet device everything runs smoothly.

Once I plug in the ethernet backhaul it causes problems.

there are no additional notes in the system logs

Im using the Archer A6 4.0 on firmware 1.13.6

RE605x V3.0 on firmware 1.14
