Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.14 Build 20241223 Rel. 16551

Hi there,

I have currently 6 (yes 6 !) Deco XE75 Pro's with 5 of these around the house and all these working perfectly. I have the sixth Deco located in my Games Room and working. I have an ethernet cable running from the house down to the gamesroom 16 port switch (tp-link) and then etherneet cables running from there to devices that take ethernet including the Deco XE75 Pro.

I have gigabit broadband and get approx. 900-1.2Gb speeds and full signal everywhere.

In the gamesroom I have a connection issue with 2 devices. An Apple HomePod (OG) fails to connect to the wifi and also an Eve Outdoor Camera with floodlight. Both these devices were working previously prior to getting the Deco XE75 Pro installed in this room as previously it was an Apple Airport.

I have tried and successfully connected the HomePod to the wifi network if placed in any room in the main house and connects without issue to the Deco's there but seems to fail when I bring it down to the gamesroom.

The Eve camera also fails to connect to the wifi in the gamesroom and unfortunately I cannot move it to the main house as it is installed to the wall over the entrance and is powered via wiring.

Other devices that use wifi in the gamesroom and work successfully are as follows:

Aqara Presence Sensor
Meross Extension
Eufy PTZ indoor camera

I have only recently managed to have the outdoor camera replaced and re-installed but unfortunately the same result.

The Deco XE75 Pro's are under 6 months old. I have also switched Deco's in case an issue with the Deco in the gamesroom but again same result.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Regards

NJP

Hi there, many thanks for all the support.

I resolved it eventually. The issue was the SSID name. Best practice is to have a single name or a name with a dash or underscore to avoid having a SPACE between the name.

eg. SSID example name:

HomeKit yes
MyHomeKit yes

My_Homekit yes

My-Homekit yes

My HomeKit no

Many thanks

Hi, welcome to our community.

Did you try to only enable 2.4GHz band on Deco app and try to connect to your Apple HomePod and Eve Outdoor Camera to the game room Deco?

It is suggested to follow the tips below:

1. Enable the guest network and connect your Apple HomePod and Eve Outdoor Camera to the guest network to have a comparison.

2. Enable a Hotspot Wi-Fi on a phone and connect your Apple HomePod and Eve Outdoor Camera to the Hotspot Wi-Fi.

3. If the problem persists,  please share the exact model of your Apple HomePod and Eve Outdoor Camera

Thank you and best regards.

Many thanks for coming back to me - much appreciated.

I tried to connect the devices to a 2.4Ghz device (ie turned off the 5Ghz on my iPad) but this failed also.

I shall try the Guest Wi-Fi now and test and follow-up with the other suggestions also.

Regards

Hi there,

I turned on Guest wifi and had it only for 2.4Ghz and turned off the 5Ghz.

Both devices connected and were working perfectly.

This morning though I found that the Eve Outdoor Camera has disconnected and the homepod continues to work.

The last known connection to the Eve Outdoor Camera was 23:45 on April 15th.

I shall reset the camera again to re-add the device after removing it from HomeKit and Eve Apps and will update.

I did not carry out options 2 and 3 as both devices had connected.

In order to possibly help you here are the model numbers of teh devices.

HomePod 1st Gen (MQHW2B/A) - Version 18.4 (22L55)

Eve Outdoor Camera : 20ECAx102 (Firmware 1.0.2)

Regards

Hi, thanks for your further sharing.

After confirmation, there is no better suggestions except resetting your whole Deco network and reconfigure it.

Then you may try to connect your HomePod and Eve Outdoor Camera to the Deco in the gaming room again without setting any preferred signal source for these devices.

Thanks for your cooperation and best regards.
