Hi, 

 

I recently got the Deco x50 ax3000 whole home setup. I used a virgin hub 5 router so changed it to modem mode. To start with it was working great so I decided to purchase the advanced parental controls and create some kids profiles. Everything in the house seems to be working fine except the kids devices on the profile. They can't seem to download anything and the connections are slow. I have 1gig and on speed tests usually get around 600-700 speeds. On their devices I'm anything from 10 - 70 and it's very temperamental.

 

Does anyone have any idea what might be doing this?

Hi, welcome to our community.

What is the hardware version of your Decos? What are the "kid devices" you mentioned?

If you remove them from the parental control profiles, is it the same speed result? Are these devices connected to main Deco or satellite Decos?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I have hardware version 1 on both decos. They have Samsung S23FE phones. I have removed the phones from profiles, unrestricted everything and seeming the same results. My son was trying to play a game yesterday that outright refused to play saying no WiFi but as soon as he turned WiFi off it worked. I've tried setting my hub 5 up as a router and the Deco as an extender. I've tried setting the hub 5 as a modem and Deco as a router.

Hi, thanks for your update.

The problem seems weird.

After removing the Samsung S23FE phones from parental control profiles, the speed result is the same, that means the actual problem seems no related to Parental Control settings.

When your virgin hub worked as router, did you ever try to connect Samsung S23FE phones to the virgin hub to test speed or play games?

Can other devices connect to Deco network properly?

 

When the Samsung S23FE phones connect to other wireless networks, how about the speed performance?
You may also reboot the phones and Decos as well.
