Firmware Version : V1.20_150428

Hi,

ever since version 141126 of the firmware, I cannot get the media server to work. My devices cannot see the server, but I can access the HDD through SMB.

I used to be able to see the router on my Android phone, and my smart TV, but as of versions 15xxxx of the firmware, they are not visible.

I tried to restore to factory defaults, and it did not fix the issue.

Toggling UPnP and Firewall settings has no impacts on it either.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I tried many of their FAQ's and non of them have helped me (I saw this particular one too).
Also I am not using any authentication for the media server. I want all the devices to be able to access all of the data on the HDD, using the normal no username or password account.
As said, before the v15xxxx firmware the same settings I am currently using worked just fine. After the update, they stopped.

If you select "share all" with no "authentication" , could you see the file in your media palyer? I suggest you check the sharing option of your computer.

The router is setup to share all and to not require any authentication for the media server, and I cannot see the router on my devices (ie. Smartphone, TV).

The only way I can access my HDD on the router is through SMB.

BTW, my Windows are setup the same as yours in this screenshot, and the router does not show up on the PC either.

Is there a way for me to make sure that the router is running the DLNA service?

Hi,

yes I've sent a ticket to them the other day. Still waiting for a reply. If you are experiencing the same issue I suggest you also report the problem so that they know its a widespread issue.

No updates. You should also report a ticket to TP Link.

I have done so. Not sure they will be able to resolve it but perhaps it will influence what the next firmware release contains.
