Model: Archer AX53
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20240509 rel.64683(4555)

Is there a way to disable security on then main wireless networks (2,4 and 5 GHz)?  Relying on guest networks as passwordless networks is really awkward when guest networks requires the main wireless network to be enabled, which will sit around being a waste of space appearing as available network on devices. This is a downgrade from my 10+ years old router.

Hi@Becauseofcourse,

Thank you for contacting our community.

May I confirm whether you want to change security type of main router to 'no password'? You can change security type to 'None'.

But if you want to hide the main network, you can click on 'hide SSID' button on wireless settings page.

@Joseph-TP Indeed setting security to none is an option - hidden at the very top of the scroll window in which the default security configuration is one of the bottom ones. I am coming from the firmware of an older Archer-router where security (aka password-protection) is a visible toggle for each wireless configuration.
