Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TD-W9980

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 0.6.0 1.12 v0021.0 Build 150507 Rel.40130n

ISP : TalkTalk

I can connect to the VPN no problems (L2TP on Windows SBS2011) but cannot access any resources on the server and no web traffic will pass, I have forwarded ports 500, 4500, 1701 as UDP to the server and under ALG settings in the router all options are enabled, the very same set up worked perfectly with our old modem/router but as we have upgraded to fibre I had to buy a new one.

Any ideas?

Thanks all :)

It's a pretty basic network, TD-W9980 connected to 8 port gigabit hub connected to server, the only thing that has changed is I have replaced the old Dlink DSL-2740R ADSL moden/router with the TD-W9980 as I now have fibre conection, same ports forwarded VPN connects but no access to any network resources.

Topology is important when we try to figure out the problem with VPN connection...
IPsec VPN is configured on W9980 or you just use its VPN passthough feature?
W9980 is working as a wireless router with another fibre modem?

Clearly my understanding of Topology is not very good :D ill have another go, The router is the only modem/router on the network, its the DHCP server (DHCP is disabled on the windows box) its the wireless router and VDSL modem, ip 192.168.0.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0, the server has manual ip of 192.168.0.4 Subnet the same and DNS pointed to the router 192.168.0.1, No IPsec configured on router just the ports forwaded as above and VPN L2TP passthrough enabled. One thing I noticed under WAN setting in router is the subnet mask is 255.255.252.0 but this field cannot be changed, under LAN settings I have the subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0, now I'm sure the WAN subnet should make no difference but out of curiosity I changed the LAN subnet to 255.255.252.0 and it worked but only for a minute or so then the all traffic stopped again, so I changed it back to 255.255.255.0 and again it started working the quite literally after about a minute and then it all stopped??? so I tried another few times to see if it really was happening and yes it was, most strange now I am truly stumped as I am sure you will be, is this a bug in W9980 firmware? As I have said before the only thing that has changed is I have replaced the old Dlink DSL-2740R ADSL moden/router with the TD-W9980 as I now have fibre connection, I have even restored to a server backup that was made before the modem was changed. If you made it this far Thank you :)
