TL-SG3428X switch, Tl-sm5310-t gbic, EAP772 AP Working Together
Hi there!
I am about to move from an apartment to a new house soon and I am currently planning the network.
I have a pfsense appliance with 4 2.5gbe ports: 2 WANs connected to 2 ISPs, 1 LAN and the last port for IOT devices and guest network.
My current plan:
Use a TL-SG3428X switch;
Use 3 EAP772 APs for main WIFI LAN access throughout the house (2 story 300m2 total)
This switch has 4 SFP ports, so the idea is to use 4 Tl-sm5310-t gbics.
Port 1 will connect to the pfsense appliance LAN port;
Port 2, 3 and 4 each will connect to EAP772 APs through CAT7 cabling.
Goal: maximize wifi throughput and performance - I want to use the APs as L2 devices, but making sure they are capable of roaming (I already have DHCP, DNS etc. infrastructure in place) and I can run the Omada Software in a VM if needed.
Questions:
- Does the TL-SG3428X switch support VLAN trunking?
- Any issues regarding the EAP772 connected to the switch via these GBICs?
- Are those compatible, management wise? I mean, will I be able to use, for example, the Omada Software Controller to control the switch and the APs?
- Any suggestions or concerns?
Thanks in advance.
