I have a Deco M9 network installed and it worked ok for years.
All of a sudden, the main unit stopped working, it blinks blue.
I don't have this unit anymore in my app.

I looks like the unit is hard reset and lost all settings (factory reset?).

 

I'm unable to set it up again as I live now on the other side of the globe (my son is living in the house).
I'm the only one that has (had) access to the deco so nobody can have done a factory reset.

It is also strange that the app doesn't even show my Deco anymore.
It just shows the inital screen to start with the setup.
It should at least show my Deco and say that it can not connect to the Deco anymore.

Anybody any idea what can have happened here?

Hi, you can try to share your TP-Link Account ID details with your kid. He is able to download the Deco APP on his mobile and log into your account to reconfigure the Deco again.

Hi, you can try to share your TP-Link Account ID details with your kid. He is able to download the Deco APP on his mobile and log into your account to reconfigure the Deco again.

Is there any documentation on how to do this?
When I check my deco app I can only link accounts for IFTTT and Alexa.

 

Is the configuration stored in the cloud?
Or does he have to setup the whole deco from scratch?

Hi, your kid might need to set up the network from scratch:https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#video

Deco App does support Configuration Backup, but as the network has been reset, you can't backup the previous network now:

Deco APP Configuration Backup

 

As for the configuration guide, you might just need to share your TP-Link email ID and password with your kid. After downloading the Deco APP on his mobile, he can log into your account ID to start the configuration.
