Hi everyone,

 

I’m using a Deco BE65-5G and I’m generally happy with it – but there’s a recurring issue with the 5G connection.

It keeps dropping from time to time and only a reboot of the router brings it back. A simple reconnection would probably be enough, but it seems like the unit doesn’t try to do that automatically.

 

My questions:

 

  1. Has anyone experienced this issue and found a solution?
  2. Is there a way to trigger an automatic reboot of the Deco, for example if a ping to a certain IP (e.g. 8.8.8.8) fails?
  3. Could this maybe be done using a Raspberry Pi, which pings the router regularly and restarts it, if there’s no response?

 

Even better would be if the router could detect this situation on its own and automatically perform a reconnection.

 

Any ideas or suggestions are highly appreciated!

Hi, may I know your SIM carrier?

Would Deco BE65-5G turn red during the disconnection?

How often would the 5G connection drop out? several times within a day?

Could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

A copy of the internet settings when Deco BE65-5G was disconnected on the Deco APP, such as

A copy of the web UI system log: Deco web interface login

  @TobiasD Marking this forum. Am having a version before Deco X50 5g, already been facing it ever since I owned it and also having the red-light of death.

 

Something with the modem is not reliably connecting to 5G:  Deco x50-5G Intermittent Red light of death. <- My thread for your info
