TP-Link TC-W7960 Router Login Not Working After Firmware Update – Need Assistance
Hi TP-Link Community,
I’m running into an issue with my TP-Link Wi-Fi router (model TC-W7960) after updating the firmware.
Issue Summary:
Following the firmware update, I’m no longer able to access the router login page using the default IP address (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1). The internet connection itself is stable, and Wi-Fi is working, but I can’t reach the admin interface to manage settings or verify configurations.
Device Details:
-
Model: TC-W7960
-
Hardware Version: v3
-
Firmware Version: 1.9
-
Connection Type: Cable (ISP: [Insert your ISP, if relevant])
-
Login Access Attempted Via: Chrome, Firefox, Safari on desktop and mobile
-
Status: Ping to 192.168.0.1 succeeds, but browser shows “This site can’t be reached”
Troubleshooting Performed:
-
Cleared browser cache and tried multiple browsers/devices
-
Rebooted and factory reset the router
-
Tried accessing both via IP and
tplinkwifi.net -
Ensured the device is connected directly to the router via Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Questions:
-
Is this a known issue after updating to Firmware Version 1.9 on this model?
-
Are there alternative IPs or methods I can use to access the router login page?
-
Could this be a DNS or web management service issue related to the new firmware?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
