Following on from this Previous Question

 

 I have just spent £300 on a set of three XE75 Deco units on the understanding I could connect my Tuya radiator valves (TRV's) into the Deco Mesh ecosystem. I couldn't add the Tuya Valves directly to the Mesh, further investigation reveas that on the M9 is compatible!! So I tried to link the zigbee smart hub onto the network, without any luck.

 

Two questions, when will the XE75 (almost flagship of the Deco line up) be updated so the Tuya Smart home can be included in the mesh system, An secondly, how can I get this issue resolved with what I have?

Thanks @David-TP , tried a number for different scenarios this morning and success, I think............

 

So finally,

  1. Moved the hub about 2 metres away from the Deco unit (thinking interfernce),
  2. Disabled all other WiFi bands, so the XE75 was just transmitting on 2.4Ghz, @ MightyQuinn
  3. Roaming & Beam forming (which intern Disabled OFDMA/MU-MIMO aswell) and the Zigbee hub connected, - actually the Tuya app said it failed but then suddenly it appeared, so did all my TRV's.
  4. Turned all WiFi bands (2.4, 5 & 6) back on
  5. Roaming & Beamforming remain disabled

 

Now, if I was to enable the Roaming & Beamforming is that likely to remove the Zigbee hub? I know I could try but while I'm winning, ...................laugh

Additional Info. to the above. All the initial pairing was done on my main network SSID and not the IoT SSID. As you can not move devices from one SSID to another I had to reregister the Zigbee hub on the Iot SSID. I found that, even though my IoT SSID is 2.4Ghz only I still had to turn off the 5Ghz and 6Ghz band on the main SSID to get the hub to register. Also turning Beamforming & Roaming once registered has no affect.

What is special about these Tuya radiator valves? Have you tried disabling the 5GHz and 6GHz bands before trying to connect them. Once they are connected you can enable the 5GHz and 6GHz bands again. I have to do this on my old Smart Life smart sockets.

 Thanks for you suggestions @MightyQuinn In answer to " What is special about these Tuya radiator valves? " Nothing.......they just use a Zigbee hub as an intermediate Wifi bridge.

 

the set-up method is:-

  1. Put the Zigbee hub into Pairing Mod
  2. Login to Wifi
  3. Let the Tuya App do its thing.

 

I have tried turing off the 5Ghz & 6Ghz Radios, as I remember having to create a 2.4Ghz only SSID on my last router, anyway still no luck, getting quite frustrated now.

Note, you may need to reboot the XE75s after you disable/enable the 5/6 GHz bands before connecting your device by WiFi.

Thats Possible, but if i do a wifi network test, using WifiMan, only the 2.4Ghz is live.

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

As the Tuya TRV Zigbee radiator valve isn't directly connected to the Deco WiFi,  is the current issue that

  • Zigbee gateway hub can't connect to the Deco WiFi 

 

  • Or the Zigbee smart TRV can't pair with the gateway hub

 

If it were the first case, it is also suggested to disable "fast roaming" and "beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

If it were the second, I don't think it is a WiFi connection issue. Have you tried to move the Zigbee gateway hub much closer to the radiator valve?
