Trying to setup the RE205 but when trying to setup the password it keeps saying "Failed. Please avoid overly long or special characters. If the problem persists contact our technical support" I've made the password short and it keeps happening, was working just fine and all of a sudden it stopped working so I reset it thinking that will fix it but now I can't complete the setup, any ideas?

You could try to set the password via the RE205's web management interface. Open a web browser on your Android phone and browse to http://tplinkrepeater.net or http://192.168.0.254 .

Please correctly reset the extender:

Keep the power on, use a pin to press RESET Button (Hole)  for 1 second to reset the extender.

only thing i havent tried yet it connecting it to the router with an ethernet cord and attempting to set it up that way, for whatever reason it wont let me set the password using the tether app on my android phone
