Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.3 Build 20240628 rel.37017

Hi, I'm having stability issues with AX55 v1 where my internet drops periodically for 5-10 secs, usually hours apart. I have noticed the LAN light turning off for a few seconds when it happens. I've been pinging google.com while playing games (war thunder) and I get ping timeout when it happens, as well as package loss in the game. This has been occurring for at least a month. On rare occasions I get several internet drops consecutively e.g. internet drops -> back up for a few secs -> internet drops again -> back up ect.

I do not have this issue if I use my ISP's router (EX3300). I have only testet this over ethernet - not on WiFi.

I have set up AX55 with VLAN-tagging as required by my Danish ISP (https://www.hiper.dk/hjaelp/udstyr/vlan-tagging). I have two SSID: one for WiFi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and one for IoT.

What I have tried:
 - Resetting the router
 - Changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 instead of default 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1.
 - Using static IP (Internet Connection Type), does not work though - it will not connect to the internet at all.

Setup:
fiber cable -> Fiber router -> Router (AX55 or EX3300) -> PC (ethernet cable)

Below are the logs of two examples when it happens when pinging and router(AX55) logs.

I've been told by TP-Link my AX55 is defective or faulty, so it's off to RMA.

Hello@B_P,

Welcome to our community.

When the issue occurs, will the internet light turns red?

Please connect a PC directly to your modem to verify if your ISP's Internet is stable.

Please ensure the Ethernet cable connecting your modem to the Router is properly connected, and replace old wires with new ones.

May I know when did you buy the router? Have you changed any settings recently?

Please refer to the FAQs below to collect system logs and backup files of the router:

How to view and save System Log of TP-Link wireless router

How to create and restore from a backup file on your TP-Link Router

Then email the logs and backup files to support.forum@tp-link.com, attaching [Forum ID 829156] and details, and we will have a dedicated person to assist in analysis and follow-up.

  @Joseph-TP

  • When the issue occurs, will the internet light turns red?

I'm not sure, since the disconnects are very brief and I would have to actively look at the router when it happens.

  • Please connect a PC directly to your modem to verify if your ISP's Internet is stable.

I don't think I can connect directly to my fiber modem, but I have no disconnects when I use my ISP's router (EX3300).

  • Please ensure the Ethernet cable connecting your modem to the Router is properly connected, and replace old wires with new ones.

Checked and I have swapped multiple times between AX55 and my ISP's router, it only happens on AX55.

  • May I know when did you buy the router? Have you changed any settings recently?

11 Jul 2023

I've tried to disable default flow controller under LAN.

I've had one disconnect this morning at 07:07 and I'll send logs.
