Hi all,
I just updated my Archer D7 firmware to 0.9.1 1.1 v002d.0 Build 150824 Rel.40904n
and can not find the Firewall setting anywhere in the new user interface.
I was able to restore my backed up settings from previous version and everything seems to work, except Firewall because my WAN Hosts are not blocked like before.
Did TP LINK quietly remove the firewall? WTF TP LINK?!
CHANGELOG > Archer_D7_V1_150824
New Features/Enhancement:
(1) Adopted a totally new web management interface, more concise and easy to use.
(2) Update the USB LED indicators.
-Flashing means HDD initializing.
-Solid on means HDD detected.
-Off means HDD unplugged .
Bug Fixed:
(1)Fixed the compatibility issue which works with Seagate 5TB HDD device.

The UI is updated indeed with the latest firmware and no firewall option anymore. Some of firewall functions can be applied with other features.
But if you want to block WAN Hosts, you need to revert back to old firmware temporarily.
Hope TP-LINK will make some improvement in next firmware. :(

Seriously? They removed the firewall?? Thats.... insane. Surely thats the kind of thing that should be in the release notes?

Problems After Upgrade to Archer D7 v150824 Firmware
2015-10-12 11:34:09
After persistent problems where my Archer D7 would completely freeze I upgraded to the latest firmware v150824. Now hitting problems not being able to correctly set and manage the firewall functions or re-establish the firewall rules I had prior to the upgrade.
I understand the desire to simplify the user interface for non-expert users, but it's unacceptable when a firmware upgrade removes function or an overly simplistic UI makes it inaccessible.
Per the earlier posts ... this should be mentioned in the release notes, but equally astonishing I don't seem to be able to find any documentation or manual anywhere that describes the functionality or operation of the new interface.
I am going to try downgrading to the previous firmware version to see if that gives me back the control I need. If not, I will be shopping for a new router - the D7 has been major disappointment.

Same as this... It's the worst router I've ever owned.
I have a load of TP-Link gear, and I've never had a problem with any of it but after the headaches I've had with this, and the fact that TP-Link stopped answering my emails when I tried to get to the bottom of the problems, I will never buy another TP-Link product.

Yeah I agree! I just bought one, and am now seriously considering returning it to get something else...Pretty poor TP-Link!

Your guys should feed it back to TP-LINK support team instead of complaining here as it will push them to release newer firmware with features what you need more quickly.
