Deco X55 (1.0) - DoT issues
After updating my Deco X55 (v1) to the latest firmware version 1.6.7, I’ve been experiencing multiple daily Internet disconnections when using DoT mode.
In my setup, I have three DoT servers configured: AdGuard, Cloudflare, and Quad9. Everything worked fine with the previous firmware version. However, since the update, I’ve had to manually refresh the DNS servers several times a day, as my devices were losing Internet access.
The only workaround I’ve found so far is switching to DoH mode. Since then, I haven’t had any issues — it’s been running smoothly for several days.
I'm not an expert in these matters and honestly don’t have a strong preference between DoT and DoH, but I had read that DoT is generally better suited for routers.
If anyone else has experienced the same issue and would like to share their thoughts, you're more than welcome! 😊

Hi @David-TP, thanks for getting back to me. Right now, I have it configured with DoH and it’s been working fine for several days, so I don’t think the current logs would be of much help. What I meant was that with the latest version, when DoT was enabled, some devices would randomly lose internet connection. Restarting the Deco didn’t solve the issue, but refreshing the DoT server settings on the router did. It seemed like the connection to the DNS servers was being cut off and the DNS couldn’t be assigned to all devices properly.

I am using my Deco X55 (1.0) mesh network in AP mode but I have serious issues after upgrading to 1.6.7.
WiFi is extremely slow and unstable
If I connect a PC to an Ethernet port on a remote Deco I get full speed but if I connect my PC to the same Deco via WiFi I get 90% reduced speed and very unstable
Web page loading indicates DNS lookup errors
This did not happen in previous firmware 1.5.5
Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Hi, nice to see you again.
Can you consistently reproduce the following issue?
After configuring a DOT server, the devices start losing internet access.
-Could you please refer to this link to help me submit the system log:
(you could send the log to support.forum@tp-link.com, and please add the forum ID#831180)
"devices were losing Internet access", is it like the mobile devices randomly can't open certain websites?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Hi, welcome to the community.
Can I have some screenshots of the network map, such as:

Would there be many smart home devices on the Mesh network?
Did you manually restart the whole Mesh once to see whether it made any difference?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.
