Extra maps
I realised, rather late, that the 4 maps expressed as 3+1 meant that I can't actually save 4. But I live in a split level house so I do need 4. Is there any reason you can't support extra maps? Or even if I have to save them off to cloud storage and reload to not use up to much space on the device itself. I really just want the ability to manage one more, but it seems a little arbitrary to limit the number?
Is there any chance of updating with extra map support?

Up to 3 maps can be saved. In your case, we recommend not saving a map for the area with the smallest floor space (cleaning area). As long as you don’t switch maps, the vacuum can continue to perform cleaning tasks using the currently recorded temporary map.
Alternatively, you can choose the most frequently cleaned floor—assuming that this map doesn’t need any custom settings, such as rooms, no-go zones, or carpet areas, so that you don't need to reconfigure them every time remapping this floor.

@Wayne-TP indeed, that's the workaround. I just don't save the 'simplest ' floor but I then have to remap it every time I want to clean that floor which is annoying.
My question is really why is there a 3 limit at all? Clearly there is an ability to save maps for backup, it seems like it wouldn't take much to support switching maps. rather than have delete removing the backup as well. You could potentially switch the extra map on/off of the device when needed.
I guess I'm just unusual in living in a house split over 4 levels.

Well, that's how the feature is designed. As the forum moderators, we don't really have details on the background information as it is not within our scope of responsibility -- design & develop products.
However, regarding this matter, we recommend posting a dedicated feature request post to share your feedback. The product team will review the feature requests regularly, hot topics with detailed background information (e.g. use scenarios, reasons why you want or don't want a certain feature, etc) will be prioritized for evaluation. For example, can you share which city and country you're located in? Is the design in your area similar to your house, with four or more stories? Are such houses common, or are they mainly found in specific regions? From what I know, in Europe or the United States, houses are generally larger but usually only have two or three stories (including basements). Also, many people live in apartments.
