Having recently obtained the rv30 I didn't initially understand why it claimed 4 maps with a description of 3+1.  consequently it was only after using it that I realised that means you can only save 3 maps. which is annoying because I live in a split level house that has 4 floors.

There is already a feature to 'backup' maps so there is obviously an ability to offload the map data elsewhere etc. but currently if you delete a map it also deletes the backup.

I'm proposing that you support offloading maps to make space to rotate on others, eg allow an arbitrary amount of maps to be saved off the device and just restored when needed. this would mean I could have all 4 floors maps, and just switch in/out as necessary rather than being forced to remap one floor every time I want to use it.

I don't know how much data ends up in a map - but I'm assuming you could even support offloading them to the mobile device with the app if you don't want to support the cloud storage.

At the moment I have no idea why I would even use the backup map feature, given it deletes the backup if you delete it on device I have no idea what scenario would lead me to use that backed up data. However, if you support this option to delete from the device but not the backup, then it immediately becomes extremely useful.
