I recently installed and configured the TP-Link AX3000 RE705X range extender as a wireless access point. In the Extender there is a firmware update available but I receive the same error that the download failed regardless of browser and whether I am on ethernet or wifi selected to the range extender.

Current version: 1.0.11 Build 20230731 Rel. 41461

Update available from within TP705X: 1.1.9 Build 20240426

Update on TP-Link website for TP705X: RE705X_v2_1.2.6 Build 20250428

Message on update download fail. Why am I receiving this error message, how may I get this to work and is the 2025 update on the TP-Link a safe install even though the Extender itself identifies an older update?

Welcome to our community.

 

The firmware of different hardware versions is different. From your screenshot, the hardware version of your RE705X is V1, which can be updated to RE705X_V1_1.1.9 Build 20240426

The firmware of different hardware versions is different. From your screenshot, the hardware version of your RE705X is V1, which can be updated to RE705X_V1_1.1.9 Build 20240426

We currently only support online product registration in some regions. Different regions have different registration processes. Please refer to the local official website for details of the warranty or contact local support directly for confirmation.
