I don't want to use the router as a DSL modem. I only want to connect it to my home network to use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot and to utilize the router’s own functions, such as the VPN server.

I have configured the router's LAN and Wi-Fi. It works as a Wi-Fi access point, but the router indicates that it does not have internet access, so I can't use its built-in services like the VPN server or NTP servers

Generally speaking, it is not recommended to install firmware provided by unofficial personnel and unofficial channels.

For how to set up the xx230v as a wireless router, please refer to BBA GPON_User Guide (start from the page 17)

  @lontano "Is it possible to flash an alternative firmware onto the XX230v DSL modem in order to repurpose it and use it as a standard router?"
