Hey, folks.

Have to set up a decent signal for my needs. Explanation: Have the LAN cable on the second floor. That brings currently about 50 mbps internet speed. Aim: to have as fast internet speed as possible on the first floor. Can't move the LAN cable on the first floor, no option for Ethernet.

Initial idea: Have the AX73 on the second floor as a main router and install the R700X as an extender on the first floor just under the room where the AX73 is.

Then started thinking of DECO and so on but this is something new for me.

Question: What is the best option for me? The living room on the first floor is in another room, not where the extender will be. There is the room where the extender is, a corridor and then the living room. So 2 more concrete walls.

Hi, welcome to the community.

How about the network performance(speed and stability) on the first floor when using RE700x?

For multiple floors, have you ever considered powerline adapters if both floors are under the same electric service meter?

Such as PGW2440 KIT: https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/powerline/pgw2440-kit/

It also supports EasyMesh and could be used together with AX73.

Or if you plan to replace both Archer AX73 and RE700X with a 2-pack Deco, Deco PX50 seems to be a good choice as it supports Deco Mesh as well as Powerline Backhaul

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thanks for your prompt reply.

In this case, I guess DECO is the best option. Now, which model? Deco PX50 or X60?

  @Maudlin

Hi, if the whole house is under the same electric meter and the electric wiring system is new, Deco PX50 is worth a try.

Deco X60, which is also AX5400 like AX73, would also be a good choice for pure WiFi Mesh Backhaul.

Best regards.
