Model: HB710
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.2.0 3.0.0 v60be.0 Build 240827 Rel.44957n

Hi,

I have a HB710 WiFi router which is connected to my Internet Gateway device. I connect all the devices on my home network to HB710, either via LAN or Wifi. MY DLNA server is directly connected to the HB710 via LAN & I'm able to access my DLNA media content from other devices like my desktop, when they connect to the network via LAN. However, I'm unable to access the DLNA content via any devices that connected to my network via wifi (for eg, my mobile phone, tablet) - I can still ping the DLNA server and even access the shared folders on it. I noticed that if I use the wifi connection option for my desktop then I can't access the DLNA content from my Desktop. All devices were able to access the DLNA content via wifi when using my earlier ASUS router

It appears as if HB710 is blocking DLNA access via wifi or probably filtering out the DLNA packets.

Can anyone advise on how to resolve this? It's a pain not being able to access my media file through my phone and tablet.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Have you tried to set HB710 into "Access Point" mode?

And have you ever configured static IP settings on the DLNA server?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using the HB710 as a router ie. it connects my home devices to the internet. Would it be able  to manage my home network ( like providing DHCP, routing between my LAN and Internet )if I set it to "Access Point" mode?

The DLNA server has a static IP.

  @Arun_TP

Hi, thanks for the update.

If the DLNA server is configured with a static IP address, have you checked whether it is in the same IP range as the LAN network of HB710?

When HB710 is in AP mode, it no longer works as the DHCP server and will not assign IP addresses to the connected devices. All devices, including Deco, will get IP addresses from the ISP gateway router.

Best regards.

Yes, the static IP address is in the same IP range as the LAN network of HB710. As i mentioned in my post, I can access the DLNa media through devices that are connected to the HB710 via wired connections, it's not accesasabile on devices that are connected via wifi to the same HB710.

I can't run my HB710 in AP mode, I need it to work as the DHCP server for my LAN - my ISP fateway device doesn't have this capability.
