Firmware Version: 1.5.4 Build 20220113 Rel.38349

Followed the instructions on the deco app to set up the main deco M4 unit. While a WiFi network was being created, the LED turned solid red. Connected to the network but no access to the internet. (modem works fine as I can access the internet through the usual router)

 

Deleted the network and reset the M4 multiple times and set up again, but all still the same. Tried removing the current router in use, and still the same issue with deco. Tried turning on the IVTP setting and chose Malaysia-Unifi, and still the same issue. 

 

Fyi I placed the M4 purchase order from abroad, and family didn't manage to set it up. I've just returned now after 2 years, and I took can't set it up.

Hi, have you tried to keep the Unify-provided router, then set Deco M4 into "Access Point mode"

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

 

And I saw the current firmware of your Deco M4_v2 was still 1.5.4. It is also suggested to manually update to 1.7.0 here:

Few questions for you. Do you have just one M4? Or was it a pack of 2 or 3? If you have more than one M4 I would try the following.

 

Use a different M4 than you have been using and make sure it's 100% reset by pressing and holding the reset button on the bottom of the M4 for 2 to 3 seconds

 

If you only have one M4 still reset it using the directions above then see below

 

Before trying to set it up in the deco app, complete disconnect the router and run an Ethernet cable from the back of the model to the M4. Also go into the modem settings (you have have to call your ISP to do this) and make sure you disable the WiFi broadcast from the modem. If your modem doesn't broadcast WiFi you can skip this step.

 

Make sure your deco app is up too date. Now that your modem is directly connected to the M4 via an Ethernet cable now try to create a new network in the deco app.
