Tether app password problems.

I have a Poco f7 pro and have been trying to set up the Tether app.
In the process of logging in it gives the opportunity to use a fingerprint which I went ahead with.
Problem is that the actual fingerprint reading section disappears when you try to login replacing it with the keyboard, which then becomes useless as the app will no longer accept login details as it expects a fingerprint.
Uninstall and start again not accepting the offer of fingerprint recognition and all goes back to normal.
The app also seems to have trouble Google password manager not filling in the actual password.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
Can I have the current Tether App version?
-Are you able to test the Tether APP login on another Android phone?
I tested on the iPhone, and the Fingerprint/Touch ID could auto-fill the correct password and log into the Tether APP properly.
It would also be highly appreciated if you could record a video clip of the Tether APP login process.
(If the file is too large, you can try to post it as a private YouTube link.)
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Hi David.
Thanks for getting back to me.
The situation still exists but since I reinstalled the tether app it is rare for it not to accept the password now, but it still happens once in a while.
When I used the screen recorder the quickly disappearing fingerprint screen did not show so I had to record it on another phone.
So in the video you can see the fingerprint screen sliding away, but no wrong password message when I tap the login button.
The software version is 4.12.5
Have tried YouTube unsuccessfully and file is 64mb so can't upload it here.
Thanks for your help.@David-TP

From my end this seems to work if you select it and click on open.
The fingerprint screen slips over the keyboard very quickly.

I have tried it on a Redmi note 9s and having updated to the same version it just logs me in with no login screens.
No options for picking fingerprint at all even though the phone has a fingerprint scanner@Oscat

Thanks for the video.
Is it on the Poco F7 Pro? Actualy, I didn't even note that the Tether APP has ever asked for a password or fingerprint for login. I think maybe the last login session was still valid, so it didn't require the password/fingerprint.
For the Redmi Note 9s, do you mean there is no fingerprint option, only a manual password keyboard?
I found an old post here: https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/67759834/how-to-enable-fingerprint-instead-of-password-to-sign-to-password-manager?hl=en
Have you tried the following suggestions:
First, set up your fingerprints, then seek the following option:
Settings -> Privacy -> Advanced -> Autofill service from Google -> Autofill Security -> Credentials
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Yes the video is of the Poco f7 pro.
The Redmi 9s does have a fingerprint scanner@David-TP
If I uninstall the Tp link app on the Poco when I reinstall it I have to login manually and then I am offered the option to setup a fingerprint login.
If I choose it then I can't login as in the video the fingerprint screen disappears and trying the login button refuses to accept password as valid.
I hope in a future update these issues disappear and I can just tap on the short cut and it opens as it does on the Redmi 9s which is now retired.
Thanks for your help.
