Model: TL-PA7017 KIT   PG2400P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I'm currently running a pair of PA-7017 Powerline adapters across 2 circuits but in the same consumer unit

The output from the one connected to the router is the full 1Gb but in the garage it's down to 34Mbps (sort of expected) on a spur from the main garage circuit

My question is will it be worth getting a pair of TG2400 G.hn units to try and improve speed ?

I saw one post that G.hn don't like separate circuits

Hello @Kremmen ,

Welcome to our community.

For the actual speed, please refer to Explanation about the Powerline Rate and Actual speed of the Powerline Adapters .

From your update, it seems the speed has returned to normal, right? Is it even meeting your needs?

Click here to comparing the PG2400P Kit and the PA7017.

Theoretically, the PG2400P Kit boasts superior specifications across the board, and its actual performance should be even better.

However, this isn't absolute; the actual performance of a device depends on the front-end network and the actual environment.

Now it seems that everything has returned to normal for the time being. I suggest you continue to observe for a while.

If you have any updates, please feel free to reply here.

Update ...

With no reply I had a look around to see if anyone else had a similar query

One post mentioned the TPplc so I installed that to check

Sure enough that was also showing around 30 to 35Mbps as it refreshed

Whilst in there I renamed my powerlines from the default to just Office and Garage so I can identify which is which

Very soon after that I lost the garage powerline from the display. Checking my Tapo app all garage devices were offline

So, brought the garage unit indoors and repaired it,took it back to the garage and plugged it in

Upon rechecking, the speed had gone to 124Mbps where it has remained

My thinking is that when I'd added a pair of AV600's into the setup, since removed, the master powerline had reduced speed and remembered it ?

Anyway, 124Mbps is more than enough for 2 cameras, 4 smart plugs and a Google nest speaker, so I'm sticking with my AV1000 setup on a Fritz mesh
