Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.2.14 Build 20241223 Rel. 16551

Hi All,

Been running an XE75 Pro as a second node to my X73-DSL router, i just had superloop 1000/50 installed and first off the X73 would not reconfigure to one of its wan/lan ports for the service, as i had a few of the kids devices set up on parent controls i didnt want to factory reset it, so we factory reset the XE75 which would be a better option and plugged in the 2.5gpbs port for the NTD - UNI 1 line for the connection.

This worked fora few days averaging 930mbps speeds overall, however it has dropped to 10 mbps capped, i spent ages with Superloop support and they wanted to factory reset again which until i backup my settings and copy out the Mac address and names against them i didnt want to do straight up.

After a few attempts and factory resetting the X73 the connection came back to 1000, however once plugged back onto teh XE75 it forced it back to 10 again, they advise there is something on the XE75 that's causing it.  I was wondering if the 2.5 port may not be best suited and swap tot eh 1.0 gig port..

Has anyone had this issue ?

Cheers

Hello@Blumr2 ,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Do you mean that you also reset Deco X73-DSL and set it to wireless router mode? And its wired speed is up to 100Mbps, right?

Have you checked the Ethernet cable between the NBN and the Main deco unit? Is it a CAT5E or up? Please try a different Ethernet cable.

If you have a wired PC, please connect it to the NBN directly. Test the link speed as below: How to check the associated/link speed on a wired client.

  @Joseph-TP Hi There and thank you for all the assistance, we can mark this one as closed, i have CAT6 cabling from upstairs to the garage and even though the cable tester saw all 8 or 4 pairs connected a more expensive tester identified 1 x single wire that wasnt pumched down just hard enough......

Once that was re-punched the connection and both items worked at the full 1000..

Thanks Again, learnt a lesson that even when my elcheapo tester says its connected it may not be capable of the speed.

hello  @Blumr2 ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

If your internet plan is 1000/50, I think you can try the 1 Gigabit Port of the Deco XE75 Pro.

But if the speed turns to 10Mbps again, please do Mac clone for the Deco XE75 pro.
How to configure MAC Clone on Deco if Deco fails to connect to the internet

Best Regards.

  @Joseph-TP Thank you , ill test that and see, is it as easy as switch off and place the WAN cable into the 1Gbps port and then restart, wil it auto sense or do i need to re-run the wizard ?

  @Blumr2 ,

Generally, you only need to change the cable to 1Gigabit port. If it doesn't work, reboot the deco unit for a try.

Changed and rebooted and the unit stays red, is there a way to re-run the connection wizard without reset ? spent ages loading all the network mac id to names so i know what is what for parental controls.

  @Joseph-TP

Thank you i have tried a full reset and run through , it actually now comesn up and tells you that the wan port sped is not obtianing 1000gbps, and still cpas at 10. also it wil not autosense anon any of the 1Gb ports it wil lonly connect toteh WAN on the 2.5Gb.

Interestignly i reset the X73-DSL and it connected and themaxed out at 100 ! however when i then connected a lan cable to my switch it disconnected the internet that wasconnected to port 1, it also woudl not autosense and connected to the wan on any other port than 1.

I have reset the XE75 Pro and setup, it gives the mesage that the speed is restricted and loaded the mac clone and placed in its mac and no difference in speed.

  @Blumr2

Do you have a link to the tester you purchased? I would like to grab one for myself :)

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1
