As the previous post about version 1.7.0 was too long to navigate for information on the newly released 1.8.0 version, I have created this new post. Kindly share your feedback on how the new 1.8.0 works. Your input will greatly benefit other users.
Thank you very much.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.
Did all connected devices fail to get IPV6 addresses or just some of them? Can I have their model numbers?
May I know your internet service provider? Which "Assign Type" did you set, DHCPv6?
If you would like to further cooperate with us, you can update to the 1.8.0 version again and save a copy of the web UI system log to support.forum@tp-link.com

@David-TP Please fix Connection Preference issue when i forced my clients to connect to that specific Deco but the clients could'nt shift on that Deco or after system reboot or when power supply came back so that client connect on other Deco not on that specific Deco that i choose.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
The future official versions would roll out based on 1.8.0, and staying on 1.6.4 might not be a permanent solution. If possible, I still wish you could update to 1.8.0 again, and our senior engineer would love to provide further assistance.
Best regards.

@David-TP Finally updated from the EN website (was a bit skeptical at first) but all is good.
Under "More" tab> advanced, it now shows 2 more options ("WAN Port" & "Static Routing")
@yasart What's your ipv6 settings in the Deco app? Since firmware version 1.5.5; I've been using "SLAAC + RDNSS" Assigned type, DNS Address & Get ipv6 address both set to "auto" and Prefix Delegation is enabled. I haven't faced any issues so far.

@David-TP This update made one of my Android TV start to lose connection all the time.
The TV brand/model is Xiaomi QLED A Pro, I haven't noticed such issue with one of my Samsung TVs but they do not run Android TV.
The error i see in logs regarding the TV is:
Wed Sep 17 14:17:27 2025 daemon.err nrd[9936]: triggerMonSteering: Failed to get uplink rssi

@DanielBG That sounds more like a "Xiaomi" issue.
I have a Chromecast with Google TV 4K & a Onn 4K box 2023 (both running on Android TV OS). Neither of them has any issues.
If that Xiaomi TV is running Android 14, set your Wi-Fi security to "WPA2-PSK (AES) only" as a workaround

@ImtiazAli Wi-Fi security is set to WPA2 only, always has been, I don't have option for WPA2-PSK? Only WPA2 or WPA/WPA2.
I'm not sure which Android version the TV runs, but I noticed it has update last night, will see if I can get it updated and if the issue is still exist.
Still weird that an update can just break working device in such a way, thankfully it has been just the TV and nothing else.

@DanielBG Oh yeah, I forgot: The "WPA2" option for M4 is WPA2-PSK. No need for changing anything.

Is this your first time buying a TV/streaming device from Xiaomi? You're in for a world of surprise then 😁
