Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.14 Build 20241233 Rel. 16551

We live in a 140m2 house which is just been built.

Our internet connection is 2gb fiber (ISP = KPN (Netherlands)

I use 4 x TP Link 75 Pro to make sure there is good connectivity in the whole house

2 x Switches (TP Link TL-SG105E), 1 downstairs next to the ISP modem and 1 upstairs where my home office is

The main XE 75 Pro is next to the ISP modem and connected with a cat6e cable. The XE 75 pro on the 2nd Floor is connected with a cat6e cable as well.  All other XE 75 Pro are connected via WiFi.

Internet connection is good in the whole house, although I never see the full potential of 2gb but i can live with that. Weird enough is that the WiFi connection coming from the ISP router is a solid 1.7gb.

The problem is outside where we have Ring cams installed as well as we sit outside the connection is bad. Garden and carport are not huge and distance from outside walls to where we sit and where the Ring Cams are is approx 6 meter.

Since both the inside and outside walls just been plastered my wife doesn’t want me to place a cabled outside WiFi repeater so i’m trying to find something else which can solve my problem.

I just looked at some of the TP Link WiFi repeaters and wonder if one of these will be the solution or will it help when I place a new XE 75 Pro close to the window? The problem is that walls are really thick and glass is triple+++ and wonder is the XE 75 Pro are strong enough. The TP Link repeater I saw in the shop is the TP Link RE705X, 3000mbps version. Before I buy equipment which is not the best option I hope someone in this forum can help me?

  @BobPrince

Hi, thanks for the update.

If that is the case, the standard Home range extender might not be a good choice for outdoor use.

You can consider Deco X50-outdoor:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/deco/deco-x50-outdoor/

It can wirelessly connect to the nearest satellite Deco XE75.

Best regards.

  @BobPrince

Hi, apart from the WiFi range extender, have you tried powerline adapters?

https://www.tp-link.com/en/powerline/

If the main house, garden, and carport are on the same electric service meter, powerline adapters might be a better solution. It doesn't expand the signal via WiFi, and the new house often has a new and clear electrical wiring system.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP thanks, just looked at the powerline adapters but can't find one for safe use outside, like ip67, since the outlets are in the open.
