Firmware Version: XX530v(US1) 1.0_Build 250313

Currently, the only possible GPON parameters to configure in XX530v v1 are the following:

 

 

But this greatly reduces compatibility with different providers, given this product IS AVAILABLE for retail in some countries, and people can buy it to replace ISP ONU/ONT, because it's a great router.

 

The problem is many internet providers validate more information that what is possible to configure in XX530v (V1), therefore my proposal is:

 

Allow a broader range of GPON parameters to be configured (AKA "OMCI information")

 

 

Like this:

For example, if a certain OLT need a specific value for SOFTWARE VERSION 1 that is different than what XX530v normally sends, this device could work with that OLT if that value could be configured (instead of being HARD CODED).

 

GPON SN is a example of this: the device has its own GPON SN printed below it, but it's possible to change it in order to allow it to be registered to the OLT.

 

We only need more parameters to be configured, like

 

Vendor ID

SOFTWARE VERSION 1

software version 2

OMCC version

Product Class

HW version

OUI

Device Serial Number

MAC

 

It would improve compatibility a lot, and make it competitive with other ONUs/ONTs.

To better understand your needs, we hope you can help us collect the following information:

1. Who is your ISP? 

2. If you have used a different PON router before, what is the specific model? Was it provided by the ISP? Could you also provide the PON type you used previously? Was it also GPON?

3. (IMPORTANT!) What are the parameters that your ISP requires you to modify? Please provide the most complete list possible. Also, are all these parameters needed for network configuration?

4. If possible, please send a screenshot of the complete OMCI information interface of your previous PON router. (If any private information is involved, please mask it.)

I have the same problem! Got the device as a gift, and was so happy to finally get rid of my ISP weak ONT! Only to be faced with it unable to register even when using the correct serial number.... Please, implement this possibility... My provider needs the right ONU Vendor ID to be sent, but I can't configure it in XX530v

Here in Brazil this routers (V1 and V2) are widely available, yet they treat them like it's only available to ISPs. Support won't help us, unfortunatelly.

 

If it allows changing GPON Serial Number, then why don't allow changing all the other parameters as well?

 

Please consider it, TP-LINK!

This model is also available in INDIA from amazon.

 

A shame that most people that were considering getting one ended up buying a VSOL model, because it allows setting several gpon options, thus easily registering properly in most ISPs.

 

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

+1 for that. If GPON SN is there to be changed, then why not the rest? Just take VSON ONU as an example, and make the implementation somewhat like this. We don't care if it's only possible to change parameters using telnet.... AS LONG AS we can change them.

  @alb3530 Man..... I suspect that why mine doesn't sync with my ISP!

 

I got this XX530v to replace that cheap ONU my provider uses, but no luck in getting it to work yet.

 

I've heard TP-Link G3 ONU allows setting this information, but it's an overall worse device than XX530v. And no WIFI :(

En: We have a community on the adrenaline forum where users are purchasing ONUs/ONTS to eliminate ISP equipment. Many users end up opting for ONUs from other brands, as this XX530v ONT doesn't offer this option. It would be great if TP-LINK allowed this. Thank you!

 

 

Br: Temos uma comunidade no fórum adrenaline onde usuários estão comprando ONUS/ONTS para eliminar os equipamentos do provedor. Muitos usuários acabam optando por ONUs de outras marcas, pois essa ONT XX530v não dá essa opção. Seria muito bom se a TP LINK permitisse que isso fosse possível. Obrigado!
