Hi.

 

I have 6 deco m9 in mesh network. 3 v1 and 3 v2 hardware models.

Only the v2 have iot network support.

Are there any plans for adding this feature on v1 model as well? Since in my setup this feature is useless.

Can you clarify one thing for me:

 

A) You do not have option to enable and configure IoT Network in Deco app;

or

B) You can enable and configure IoT Network in Deco app.

 

 

If you can enable and configure IoT Network in Deco app, why do you call it useless?

  Hi @Alexandre. 

 

I can enable the feature. But it only creates a iot network on  3 of 6 decos. It works on the v2 with firmware 1.9.1  but not on the v1 with firmware 1.6.4. So only the half of my home has now iot coverage.

There is just an firmware update for the hardware v1. 1.7.1.

I installed it , but still no luck. 

Do you have any idea if the iot network feature should be included ?

In the release notes of the v2 1.9.1 there is also no note of it.

Not sure whats going on with this.

 

  1. Firmware 1.7.1.is platform 1.7.0 & 1.8.0 yes? If so they should have access to the IoT network according to this post 
  2. Firmware 1.9.x isn't on that chart i linked above. Is the chart out of date?

 @SDO Hi, the 1.7.1 of Deco M9 plus hasn't added IoT network. So only Deco M9 Plus_V2 will broadcast an IoT SSID.

Hi, 1.7.1 of Deco M9 Plus_v1 and 1.9.1 of Deco M9 Plus_V2 mainly upgrade the HomeCare Protection to an enhanced version of Parental Controls: Firmware Enhancement with Advanced Parental Control Service on HomeCare Models

The firmware of V1 is still based on the 1.6 platform, and V2 is based on the 1.10 platform.

 

The official release note is final and the most accurate.

Occasionally, a single firmware upgrade can add features to multiple platforms, and several features are unplanned at first and don't belong to any platform. Usually, I will check the new features mentioned in the release notes to estimate which platform it is updated to, and then what other features should also be added, since sometimes, due to the word limitations of the release note, certain features might not be mentioned.
