I recently bought the tp link xx530v for my jiofiber connection to replace the jio fiber router with it by using it as a Gpon router. I applied all the settings which i could by seeing from youtube and all and my internet is working fine as i did the steps mentioned there of mac cloning.

I am facing an issue and have not been able to solve it even after getting the router replaced by the company.

during the use of wifi on the 5 ghz band (i have separated the bands into 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz), the internet suddenly stops working at random times for about 2 to 5 minutes. this happens to all devices connected to the 5 ghz band only.

this issue does not occur on the 2.4 ghz band or on ethernet-connected devices. It only happens on devices connected to the 5 ghz network. when I run the troubleshooter, it shows “no internet,” and when i check further, it says “no DHCP server found.”

after waiting for about 2 to 5 minutes, it starts working again on its own. during this time, the wifi sometimes disconnects and fails to reconnect, getting stuck on “connecting.”

this issue occurs around 4 to 5 times a day approx.

what could be the reason for this? i have also upgraded the firmware of my tp-link xx530v router, but the issue is still not resolved.

What is the current firmware version of your XX530v? Is the hardware V2 or V1?

Please upgrade and install the pre-release firmware and then try modifying the wireless settings as mentioned by others here and here to see whether any of them improve stability.

Hello,

I'm using the updated xx530v v2, authenticated via PPPoE with a cloned MAC address, and I'm also having problems with reduced speed: initially it connects normally at 1000 Mbps, and after a while it drops to 100 Mbps. I'm sure it's a bug in the xx530v, as I've already tested another modem and other cables. There's also a strange behavior where the xx530v v2 keeps creating a secondary PPPoE connection and trying to connect, even though my primary connection is authenticated and connected.

Have you installed the latest firmware on your XXX530v?

@LTelis

Do you mean the speed issue persists after you upgraded and installed the latest firmware on your XX530v V2?

As others have confirmed, the provided firmware should already address this speed issue. If the issue persists on your network, it's likely a different issue from what we discussed here. It's suggested to start a new thread to provide as many details as possible for further investigation.

There's also a strange behavior where the xx530v v2 keeps creating a secondary PPPoE connection and trying to connect, even though my primary connection is authenticated and connected.

Regarding this unexpected behavior, could you please show me more details or screenshots for better visibility? I'm not sure what these settings you referred to are on the XX530v.

When the secondary PPPoE connection is trying to connect, does the internet on the XX530v still work?

Could you please show me the screenshot of the firmware on the web GUI?

When the internet dropped to 100 Mbps, were you able to check the Ethernet negotiation speed between the XX530v and the fiber line? Was it 1000 Mbps or 100 Mbps?

Who is the internet provider?
