Hi,

 

I am having same issue as mentioned here at https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179556?replyId=388610. 

 

I bought the units from US, and disappointed to know that 5 GHZ is not working. I earlier contacted support and they simpley told me there was no solution. I need to get 5Ghz working in Pakistan.

 

The engineering team went out of their way to compile a new beta firmware for me which has allowed all my Decos to broadcast on Band4 (Channel 149+). Now all my devices can connect via 5Ghz without any issues!

 

Can i have the same firmware please !

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

The original post is quite old, and now all the Deco models sold in the local market of Pakistan are region-customized and support band 4 over 5GHz.

If you bought overseas, it is recommended to return it and purchase directly from Pakistan, which will also be beneficial for future warranty service.

Well I am not traveling back to US in near future to return these. And don't mind voiding the warranty - just give me the same beta firmware pls otherwise the deco XE75 Pro units are just useless for me. Thanks.

Hi, I'm afraid there isn't such a beta version.

Could you please send an email to the local support team to see if they can help get the customized firmware that you need?

Having their support would be more persuasive to request a regionally customized version from the senior engineers.

Already done that multiple times, they have stop responding after asking the hardware and firmware version.

 

Is there a way you can escalate it with them? The ticket# in the subject of the email is TKID250918112.

  @Ifty_007 Hello, unfortunately, I do not have the authorization to access this support ticket. I genuinely appreciate your confidence in our community service. Requesting a region-customized version without proper procedure goes against the work standard, and the beta version you mentioned in the previous is also a backup version reserved for local technical support. Without their support, we're helpless and unable to proceed effectively.

What if I installed a firmware from another region that has channels that work in Pakistan. Could it remove the channels that work in US and keep the overlapping ones that work in both regions active. I know this may effect the performance due to limited channels but then its better than nothing? And I dont care if it voids the warrenty.
