Deco X95 connected devices does not communicate with my main router.
Hello TP-Link Support,
I am currently using a Deco X95 in Router Mode behind my ISP-provided modem/router (PGN6401V).
-
PGN6401V LAN subnet: 192.168.1.x
-
Deco WAN IP: 192.168.1.3
-
Deco LAN subnet: 192.168.68.x
-
Devices (PC, NAS, CCTV) are connected to Deco on 192.168.68.x
The issue:
Devices behind the Deco (on 192.168.68.x) cannot be accessed from devices connected to the PGN6401V (192.168.1.x). For example, I cannot ping or file share with a PC at 192.168.68.100 from a PC at 192.168.1.50.
I tried the following:
-
Added a static route on PGN6401V:
192.168.68.0/24 → 192.168.1.3
(Deco WAN) -
Enabled NAT Forwarding (UPnP, SIP ALG) on Deco
-
Checked firewall settings on PGN6401V
-
Restarted both routers
But the Deco does not seem to route traffic from PGN6401V’s LAN into its LAN subnet. It only allows access one way (Deco → PGN6401V).
My question:
-
Is there a setting on the Deco X95 to allow LAN-to-LAN access between the upstream network (192.168.1.x) and the Deco LAN (192.168.68.x) when in Router Mode?
-
Or is this behavior by design (Deco acting as a strict NAT router)?
-
If so, is there any recommended workaround besides switching Deco to Access Point Mode? I need to keep Router Mode for its advanced features (QoS, parental controls, etc.).
Thank you for your assistance.
