RE705x mesh Main Network Signal strength showing incorrectly on AX5400 after firmware update
Topology: 1 x AX5400 router, 4 x RE705X easymesh extenders
I have upgraded firmware on 3 of the extenders from 20230509 to 20250627. All our used to show medium to strong signal strength prior to the firmware upgrade. The three extenders that I upgraded now show 1 red bar in the AX5400 management page. The fourth, which is still running the old firmware, continues to show a strong signal.

Thanks for your feedback.
We've confirmed that these display anomalies are primarily due to the router's EasyMesh component not being fully synchronized with the EasyMesh component of the Range Extender (which recently updated its firmware).
The Archer AX73 will soon receive a firmware update that should restore the standard display.
If the network is operating normally, we can look forward to new firmware for the Archer AX73!![]()

Hello @Gausie ,
Welcome to our community.
Are the clients on these satellite units working normally? Please reboot the whole EasyMesh Network for a try.
Also, can you check the signal strength via the Tether App for comparison?
Thank you.

Hi Joseph - and thanks for your welcome and reply.
I have just rebooted both the AX73 and the RE705xs.
The NetworkMap->MeshDevices page on the router still reports the same issue.
The network works fine. Tether shows 3 bars on all but one of the extenders, which shows 2 bars. The "2 bar" extender is the furthest away, and is still on version 1.1.4. The other extenders have all been upgraded to 1.2.10.

Hello, I have the same issue. I have 1 RE700x and RE705x.
Also in Thether app it used to show speed of 2,4 GHz a 5 GHz network of extenders, now it says 0kbps.

Hello @Gausie ,
Is there any error message? Like 'signal weak'.
Before upgrading the firmware, did the RE705X display a signal strength of 5 bars?

Hello @Cemnotar,
May I know the model of your router? Is it also a TP-Link router?
Please reboot the whole network for a try.
Also, please tell me the firmware versions of your router and extenders.
Have you checked the signal strength under Mesh Devices list of the main router? You can refer to the screenshot of Gausie's.
