Wan/Lan port 4 only allowing 100gbps
Hello, my ISP speed has increased to 500/50 from 100/20. I can only get 94mbps max using speednet tester, same speed as I had before. I have a cat6 cable. I can't see Lan port 4 on the basic vr400 screen as some have been able to change the speed on that. I'm in wireless router mode to my android tablet which is cable of it as I've had fast speeds abroad. Next to router on 5ghz. The port is rated to 1000 but unsure how to change it or see the negotiation speed.
Hoping someone can help
Thankyou

In wireless router mode you can see only LAN1-3 negotiation speed:
Make sure that QoS service is disabled:
The LAN4 negotiation speed can be seen from your ISP device (if you have such) or you can connect a gigabit PC/Laptop/Router to LAN4 and check its negotiation speed.

@terziyski thankyou for the reply, QoS is disabled. I'm wondering here in Oz that if I can connect via ADSL from my NBN box and plug a laptop in to port 4 to get it to display the speed to ensure it is set to 1000. If it's not how do you manually set it or increase it. The router is capable of it. It's a shame the other ports are only 100,pointless connecting something direct to it.

All VR400 LAN ports are 1000 mbps capable by design. There's no mannual setting for that.
They rely on auto-negotiation process, thus most probable reason for negotiating at 100 mbps is the ethernet cable itself - just try with another cable.

@terziyski thankyou, I've just bought a new cat 6 cable thus my frustration. I was hoping to find a way to see the negotiation speed and change it. Maybe connecting a laptop to lan 4 and looking at the router login screen will show me. A shame you can't manually set it.

Good question! Checking port settings feels as important as confirming a psa appointment it saves a lot of troubleshooting later.
